  • Total spending by Poles . Total spending by Poles on the holidays in 2022 amounted to approximately PLN 18.5 billion.
  • Inflation . Despite the increase in price levels compared to the previous year, Poles planned to reduce their holiday spending by only about 0.5%.
  • Christmas shopping. Most Poles (90%) do their Christmas shopping in December, with 46% doing so a few days before the holidays.
  • Where do we shop ? The most popular place to shop for groceries is the discount store (43.4%), and in the case of Christmas gifts, the internet (36.8%).
  • Types of gifts . The most frequently purchased gifts are cosmetics (36.4%), clothes (33.0%) and sweets (32.0%). A significant increase in interest was noted in the purchase of electronic equipment, which increased from 1% in 2021 to almost 12% in 2022.
